September 1 2014

Hello!

I can't believe that we just finished up the last week of August! That
is just unreal! I remember this time last year I was in Robindale with
Sister Berger! Now she's home. I'm in North Las Vegas and time is just
flying by!

Well here we go, what a week it has been!

Monday, we met with Brother Garcia, he is a recent convert. We started
to teach him the new member lessons. We talked to him about the
Restoration! It was so great to hear his testimony and understanding
of the gospel. He just received the priesthood and has such a great
desire to always be worthy of it! We also taught Robert about The
Gospel of Jesus Christ! (Faith, Repentance, Baptism, The Gift of the
Holy Ghost, and Enduring to the End!) We had Brother Rodriguez, the
Elders Quorum President, come. He is a convert of about 10 years. He
joined when he was 21 here in Vegas. We had no idea, so it made the
lesson even more powerful!

Tuesday we meet with Sister Mundy again! She is truly amazing! She had
some questions about if she really had a place in the church. Many
things talked about in church are about families, spouses, things that
she feels she is lacking and therefore it doesn't apply. We shared our
testimonies with her that she does have a place and she does matter.
We shared with her that we are all apart of our Heavenly Father's
family and we have an important role to play there! We also met with
Gloria, she has been coming to church for the past month but we really
haven't had a chance to meet with her. She was completely wasted when
we came by for our appointment. But it turned out to be the biggest
blessing because she really opened up to us about her concerns and
desires. We were able to learn better how we can help her in her
journey back to her Heavenly Father.

Wednesday we met with a few members to share our 40 Day Fast Lesson.
It was amazing! The families are really seeing miracles in their own
lives as the participate in the Fast. We are seeing miracles as well!
I every day just gets better and better! The unity in the ward truly
is growing!!

Thursday we had our first Zone Conference with President and Sister
Snow. It was my last one as well. Sister Pence and I trained on Street
Contacting! It went great! We started by hiding candy bars around the
room and had all the missionaries go "find" them! We related the
excitement for finding candy bars to the excitement of street
contacting and spent most of the time having them role play! It went
over really well! It is always great to feel the Spirit when we have
big discussions as Zones! I love being a missionary! President Snow
let us watch the trailer for "Meet the Mormons" which is coming to
theaters October 10th. He also gave us permission to go and watch it,
if we have an investigator with us! I can't wait!!!!

Friday we had exchanges and I was serving in the North Star YSA ward
with Sister Fotheringhame. It was really fun to teach YSA kids again!
I miss it! They are so down to earth and you can really be yourself
with them! We found new investigators for them and were able to really
build their area in only one day! Miracles!

Saturday we went to the Temple with Janise who was Baptized last week.
She was able to do Baptisms for the dead. The Spirit was so strong and
it was amazing to see the light she has in her eyes. Janise's mom and
siblings now want to learn about the gospel, because they see the
change in her! What a blessing that is! Janise is influencing and
changing many many lives!!

Sunday was full of 7 hours of church. Sister Pence and I taught one of
the Gospel Principle class about Missionary Work! That's our favorite!
We also had a combined 3rd hour lesson with Bishop Montandon. He
talked about "What are we preparing for?" Just think about that
question. It is deep!

I am so grateful to be a missionary! I can't believe the time is
drawing near, when I won't be able to do this everyday! But I am
staying strong and working hard! I know that Jesus Christ is our
Savior and that He loves us! That love keeps me going each and every
day!

Love,
Sister Davis
